Valentine’s Day activities to enjoy together or by yourself:
Start the day with breakfast in bed
This year Valentine’s Day is on Sunday. And what a perfect way to start the day than having breakfast in bed with your significant other. Such a simple yet powerful act of love is a strong reminder of how you can strengthen the bond between you and your loved one.
It is even more romantic when the partner who cooks the least volunteers to make breakfast for the two of you.

Just make sure to stock up all your favourite breakfast ingredients and beverages a few days in advance to have a wonderful time together.
Play chess, scrabble or a jigsaw puzzle game
Another great activity you can indulge in on Valentine’s Day is playing one of your favourite get-together games such as chess, scrabble or a jigsaw puzzle. For those who have kids around during this lockdown, this is a great way to get the whole house involved in an intellectually stimulating yet fun activity that will galvanise your spirits, and it is bound to make you giggle as you find ways to put in your best behaviour for the day.
Watch a romantic comedy movie or a comedy show
Nothing brings people closer together than a healthy laughter, and Valentine’s Day is one of those days in the year when it is worth the effort finding ways to bring a smile on your face. A romantic comedy movie or a comedy show are fantastic options to explore, because the truly good ones definitely put you in a good mood for the day.
Having said that, I suggest you check out the upcoming Namaste Wahala Nollywood/Bollywood movie on Netflix that is due for release on 14 February. The romantic comedy depicts the love story of a hot looking Indian-Nigerian couple who fell in love after a chance encounter on the beach and wouldn’t let anything stop them from being together, not even their significantly different cultures and opposing parents. Just come and thank me later after your belly laughs.
Organise a dance party
There is no proper Valentine’s Day without heart warming music that reminds you of places you have been to, intimate moments you have shared, happy memories and events, and life obstacles that you have overcome either solo, together as a couple, or as friends.
Time to dust your favourite albums off, head to YouTube, Prime Music, Apple Music, or dig out your CDs and DVDs collection to put together your favourite music playlist.

And dance like no one is watching, giving yourself permission to be carefree and blissfully happy for the day.
Have a karaoke night
I am sure by now that you have had so much fun at home with quite a few karaoke nights that you have become a professional amateur singer, even if only you can tolerate your singing.
How about getting your microphone out, selecting your favorite music playlist, and getting a few nibbles for your loved ones and yourself to sing Valentine’s Day away either in-person or virtually via zoom or Skype? And don’t forget to record your performances if you can, so that years later you could look back at those fond memories and remember the beautiful experiences that have sustained you throughout the years.
Treat yourself to an at-home spa day
A little at-home spa day is a fabulous and very sexy way to spend Valentine’s Day either solo, with your best friends, or as a couple.
Start your pampering session with a gorgeous facial to cleanse your face from all its impurities. Before your face mask, get your jade facial roller and Gua Sha beauty tools out, and gently massage your face to improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, so you look more glowing and less puffy.
Choose to immerse yourself next in a warm bath full of your favourite aromatherapy scents. Close your eyes, and simply sit in the enveloping bath, remembering your last spa day at L’Occitane Kupu Kupu Barong spa hotel in Bali or at the Royal Mansour spa in Marrakech. Follow suit with a back or foot massage and a nails pampering session to end the day in style.
